Day 3, we took a 14+ hour tour called “South Coast and Glacier Lagoon”, which covered many notable locations along the south coast of Iceland – including 2 famous waterfalls (Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss), the Glacier Lagoon, and something Rachel specifically requested: a black sand beach. I’m going to split up the photos from this tour, due to how many photos I took.
This final section is a small group of photos from our visit to the black sand beach. It’s right near the southernmost town in Iceland: Vík í Mýrdal. Our tour stopped there for an hour to get some dinner – but we preferred to check out the beach instead (duh!). Rachel was ecstatic to be able to fit this into the trip, as it was one of her key places to see!
