So, this is the year of the latest full planetary alignment! While I’m unable to show it fully in photos (it was horrendously cold and windy when I took these photos), I captured a bit to show that I was around when it happened 😉
Man, it is HARD to take photos when you can’t use a tripod (too windy), and it’s so cold that even geared up with gloves (which, by the way, also makes it hard to find and click the right camera buttons), you’re chilled and shaking enough to make taking any photos… especially night shots… very challenging.
Still, I’m happy with the few that I got! If you examine the first 4 images closely, I captured 4 of the planets reasonably well – I believe the brightest one is Venus, with the one just above the horizon (low in the photos) being Mars. The other two are probably Jupiter and Mercury?
The last 3 photos are the pretty clear night sky – where I managed to capture a few nice shots of the constellation Orion (centered around Orion’s Belt).
Enjoy 🙂
